Mashup Mama you say? it was the best thing I could come up with that completely describes me. God was gracious enough to bless me with many talents and I wanted to showcase all of them thus, this blog. I am a 29 year old mother of two, three if you count my husband. I have always felt part of my heart belonged in Colorado while the other in Texas. I was born in Texas but grew up in Colorado and now back in Texas… so don’t mess! I graduated from Colorado State University with my Apparel Design and Merchandising Degree in 2001.
Since then I have pretty much explored every career under the sun from a seamstress in a high end interior design workroom, to real estate, to certified fitness instructor to an all around entrepreneur who wants nothing more than to fufill my dreams and purpose here on this earth. Not exactly sure what my purpose is yet but I have faith Jesus Christ will lead me in the direction I’m supposed to go. Being a stay at home business mom is tough and stressful in it’s own glorified way. I think bittersweet would be the correct term for which I describe. But the long term reward will give my family the financial freedom and independence we desire.
I hope to change many lives who cross my path, with whatever it may be. I’m pretty much a book that is open to proofreading by whom ever I meet. And believe me, I’m covered in red sharpie. I love to be challenged and delight in anyone who not only can teach me something, but has a voice wanting to be heard. I hope for my own life to be shaped and molded with wisdom by everyone I come in contact with. I’m on a constant mission to better my faith, my marriage, my family, myself and my career. This job is not easy, it never ends and it gets ugly. So I’m just gonna apologize upfront for my small bouts of hotheadedness and potty mouth. My kids and husband are the most amazing package of professional nut-jobs. They’re my punk nuggets. Words can never explain my love for them… I’d be lost with out them. I praise god everyday for giving me the ability to create life, becoming a mother has been my biggest accomplishment. All in all, I think the best way to describe me, is a mashup between a mexican Martha Stewart, (minus the jail time of course) and Gwen Stefani, (minus the fact she is a blonde bombshell and I’m most certainly not).
Amidst all my beautiful disaster, I sincerely hope you get something out of me publishing it and if you don’t well, hopefully you’ll atleast get a good laugh.
